Visiting Your Kitten: Why We Limit In-Person Visits for Their Safety

Visiting the Skinnanigan Sphynx & Devon Rex Cattery — What to Expect
One of the most common questions we receive is:
“Can I come see the kittens before placing a deposit?”
We completely understand! Meeting your future kitten is an exciting moment — and it’s only natural to want to see where your baby is being raised. However, at Skinnanigans, the health and safety of our kittens always come first.

Why Visits Are Limited
Our cattery is also our personal home, and our kittens are raised right alongside our family. Because young kittens have developing immune systems, they’re extremely vulnerable to viruses and bacteria that can be carried in on shoes, clothing, or even hands — sometimes without us realizing it.
Allowing unrestricted visits could put an entire litter at risk, and we take every precaution to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Who Can Visit
We do allow home visits — but only to families who have placed a deposit and are in the process of adopting one of our kittens. This ensures we’re only introducing trusted, serious adopters to our home environment.

If you’re not quite ready for an in-person visit, we’re happy to offer:
  • Live video calls to meet your kitten in real time
  • Photos and videos sent regularly as your kitten grows
  • Updates and health records so you can see their progress

Your Kitten’s Safety Comes First
These measures help protect our kittens’ fragile immune systems and give every family peace of mind that their new Royal Velvet baby is coming from a clean, healthy, and well-monitored environment.
We love that our families care enough to ask questions — and we’re always happy to connect virtually until your kitten is ready to go home!
